Fall Must Haves for Home

Goodbye scorching hot summer, hello cool and cozy fall! Yes, the fall is finally here, and it is my favorite time of the year; it gives me such a chill, comfy vibes that I live for it! Don't get me wrong, I love the bright colors and breezy beach vibes of the summer, but I will trade the beach vibes any day for a nice warm and cozy night with my favorite sweet treats, hot cocoa, and an excellent Hallmark movie. Now I know that the fall officially kicks off in September, but to me, fall does not start until October 1! October 1 also kicks off my holiday season; yes, I treat Halloween as a holiday. Here I am yapping away; I haven't even stated why I am creating this post LOL. Well, I guess you already know it's fall time, and it is now time to get into gear with bringing the Fall season into your home. Here are my eight must-haves to kick off the Fall season for the home. I go in hard to make sure that my home screams Fall, so let's not waste any time and get into the list!
One of the ultimate must-haves for my home is scented candles. I love scented candles for this time of the year. I'm not a big fan of candles during the spring and summer, I'm more of a plug-in and melting wax fragrance fan for the summer because I enjoy the strong spicy, pungent smell candles, and they fit more for the Fall season. Also, candles give your home a cozy feel when lit up. One of my favorite places to get candles is, of course, Bath and Body Works. Every year they come out with new scents to their fall collection. My favorite candles from Bath and Body Works are Leaves and Cozy Cashmere. These candles have the spicy and sweet smells that bring in the fall in my home. Department stores have a great selection of candles, and you don't have to break the bank. The department stores you can find great fall scented candles are department stores such as TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross, At Home, and HomeGoods.
If you have fall scented candles for the home, you must have fall scented fresheners. Candles are fantastic for giving you home a pleasant fall aroma, but it's only for a short amount of time since most candles are only supposed to burn for a few hours, where fresheners can continue the Fall scent throughout the day. My favorite fresheners are the Glade plug-ins and air fresheners. You can pretty much purchase air fresheners anywhere from your local grocery store to department stores like Target and Walmart to online stores like Amazon.
Now that I have the home smelling fantastic with the sweet and spicy aroma of home fragrance, now it's time for me to pull out the fall scented cleaning products! I guess you guys thought that I was playing when I said the fall is my favorite time of the year, huh, LOL! Nothing is more rewarding when my house is extra clean and smelling so warm and cozy! Mrs. Meyer's is the go-to brand for fall scented cleaning products. My favorite scents are Orange Clove surface cleaner, Apple Cider hand soap, and Alcorn Spice dish soap.
When I think of go-to fall meals, I immediately think of soups, stews, and braises. The heartiness of stews and braises and the warmth and smoothness of soups is undoubtedly why these meals are the ultimate comfort food of the fall. The best way to whip up these great fall comfort foods is with a Dutch oven. Now I know it may sound weird to have a Dutch oven as a Fall must-have but trust me, the Dutch oven takes the flavor of these Fall meals to another level. Dutch oven should be a kitchen essential. The heaviness and thickness of the pot does well with conducting heat, which makes it perfect for searing meat at a high temperature and cooking food for an extended period of time. If you decided to make yourself a hearty beef stew, don't forget to purchase a Dutch oven and thank me later (wink wink).
Its now time to enjoy the fall season comforts, and what better home essential to bring in the home coziness than throw blankets. Whether you are working from home or just having a nice chill movie night, throw blankets can add so much comfort in enjoying this time of the year. Throw blankets are stunning in home décor because they bring the warm and welcoming vibes when I walk into my home. You can find great throw blankets in just about any department stores. My favorite stores to purchase throw blankets are Ross, T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods.
Now that you have the throw blankets to set off the Fall vibes in the home, you need to accompany the throw blankets with Fall decorative pillows. I think everyone knows why decorative pillows are a must have for the fall. Decorative pillows are the statement piece that brings the charisma to the décor in your home. It's the missing piece that ties the décor together. I love the cute little pillows with Fall sayings on them. My favorite store to find cute decorative pillows is At Home.
You cannot think of fall without thinking about pumpkins! Pumpkins are the symbolic fruit/vegetable of the fall because it's a sign that the harvest season has arrived. I'm not a fan of pumpkin pie and the majority of pumpkin-flavored food, but I'm a sucker for overdosing my home with pumpkin décor. Some people like to decorate with real pumpkins, but I prefer the artificial ones simply because there are various designs available, and I can reuse them for the next Fall season. I love the pumpkins that are not the traditional orange colors for decorating inside my home because they give me fall with a little modern touch; I used the pumpkins with the classic orange color for the outdoor décor. My go-to places in finding non-traditional pumpkin décor are At Home and HomeGoods. I purchase my traditional pumpkin décor from Amazon, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels. My recent purchase was some mini pumpkins from Amazon, where I used them for my outdoor decorations.
When I was young, I can only remember seeing wreath around Christmas time, but now wreaths are becoming essential for Fall décor as well. Wreaths are another statement piece for the fall because it adds a little southern charm to your indoor and outdoor décor. I love going to Michael's for wreaths because they have great selections for premade wreaths and materials to make your very own wreaths.
